Artist Statement

Can I create an external representation of myself, without being a direct image of me, a collection of initial thoughts and journaling to be thrown together as an abstract depiction? ‘on the inside outside’ is a project made from confusion, stress and long lived regret, I am yet to find a definitive term for what I am or what I create but the words ‘oh dear’ are said a lot, so I’ll go with that for now. This zine calls for complete creation without hindrance. I will admit (being a slight perfectionist) it was an experience to not have all the work be coherent, but ultimately finding a medium that was portable was a turning point for production and inspiration. ‘on the inside outside’ is a tiny piece of me, so eat it up you little cannibal.
